Healing Gardens began with one lovely client in 2017 who made a referral to their friend, a fellow gardener. Word of mouth has propelled our business growth. Satisfied homeowners and home gardeners have supported our expansion across York Region and the surrounding area.
Our mission at Healing Gardens is simple: to provide high-quality gardening care and to create beautiful perennial 'gardenscapes' that contribute to local biodiversity. Lead by owner/designer Kelly Lance, our team caters to each client's garden specifically to ensure excellence.
Design and Installation
At Healing Gardens, our Design and Installation service is centered on lush, diverse plantings rather than extensive hardscape. We specialize in perennial gardens, with careful selection of native and pollinator-supporting species. Each design is tailored to the site’s soil conditions, and sunlight exposure to ensure long-term success. Our work emphasizes four-season horticultural interest and artistry creating a thriving garden ecosystem that enhances your home's beauty and serenity.
Maintenance
At Healing Gardens, our Maintenance service ensures your garden thrives with dedicated care. We specialize in transplanting, weeding, garden clean-up, re-organization, pruning, edging, and watering to maintain the beauty and health of each garden, while following eco friendly practices. Our maintenance teams engage respectfully with clients to meet request. We act with empathy towards homeowners/gardeners who value their gardens and have teachings to offer. Our services help homeowners of all ages, especially seniors aging in place.
Garden Consultation
Our Garden Consultation services are offered for residential/estate, corporations, and projects with significant landscape budgets. New home purchasers would benefit from a property assessment. We evaluate site conditions including water flow, invasive plants, spatial layout, and topography to develop planting concepts and strategic garden plans. Acting as the horticultural specialist (SME), we lead design meetings; provide price estimates and scheduling; and deliver report packages with scaled freehand drawings to ensure elaborate garden projects are executed on time and within budget.
Public Speaking
Kelly offers keynote and workshop presentations on gardening, it's therapeutic aspects and pollinator-friendly landscapes. Her self made experience and background in art, music and expressive arts therapy adds an empowering element to her approach to garden talks. Designed for horticultural societies, corporations, and non-profit groups, these talks explore artistic garden design, fine horticultural maintenance and planning for all-season perennial interest.
